Naturally Imperfect
This is something I wrestle with as a person who desires to sell her wares: natural imperfections. Or so called imperfections. It took courage to post these earrings, the orange carnelian is not perfect, there is white coloring on both beads but a fair amount of one. But I loved the look. I will post in my Etsy shop and see how it's received. I will let you know how it goes. Let me know your thoughts...

Loops for Earrings
I don't usually like making a lot of loops, too time consuming. I designed a pair of earrings to use the etched copper discs I made last year. Been meaning to use them but took a little while to finally sit down and do it. So the final design took me longer than I wanted but I was finally satisfied with the end product. For my first pair of earrings I had four danglies and basically three tiers, with a little bit of ribbon to soften the metal for each earring. I liked them! So I decided to use the same design with 4 more sets of beads: blue, purple, green and another brown/red combo. But what I noticed is that although I don't particularly like making lots of loops, I committed to doing those earrings with so many danglies and didn't think twice or try to reduce the number of beads. For those of you that make jewelry you know that the more danglies, the more loops the more work.
So I sat and made many, many loops: at least 14 a pair. I started to somewhat enjoy it or maybe enjoyed the end results. Could it be that I was focusing on the objective and not the process and that got me through it? I was appreciating the work required to do the loops, the extra work to get the results I desired. Not a profound realization, just something I have to remind myself from time to time. Make the loops, do the work and enjoy the results.

Simple
Why can't life be as simple as the classic black and white pair of earrings I've posted? Why can't decisions be easy to make and people easy to read? Why does as soon as I think I'm getting through to my daughter some new lesson comes up that I must teach her, or she must teach me? Why can't life be simpler? Sometimes I think it may be simple but sometimes we try to complicate it. Now I'm thinking I should forget about asking why and just live...enjoy...live.

Gone Short
Well, I did it. I cut my hair very, very short. The longest being about an inch. I had been thinking about it for a while and finally did it. I feel as though I belong to a new sorority of women brave enough, maybe independent enough to go short. I looked up as many pictures of Jaime Lee Curtis as possible to convince myself that it's acceptable and feminine. I'm really intrigued by her because not only is her hair short she has her gray as well. So do I. Now I have to make some long earrings to go along with my new do!
